IRS Audit!

Receiving a letter from the IRS to inform you that your return is being selected for IRS audit does not necessarily mean that your tax return was found to have a problem. For a matter of fact, several tax returns are randomly selected for audit every year regardless of the amount of declared income or paid taxes.

The good case scenario will provide that if you correctly calculated your taxes and filed your return timely, the chances of having the audit concluded in about an hour is very likely. Furthermore if your taxes were not properly and accurately computed and the IRS agent found some minor errors in your return,  you are likely to be ordered to pay the difference you owe in addition to the interest and penalty assessed based on your situation.

However, if the errors found are traced to previous years you omitted some income, cannot substantiate deductions, or the mistakes you made in calculating your taxes appeared to be intentional, it is highly recommended that you obtain professional help. In this case it is very likely that your audit may result in substantial penalties, fines, and sometimes prosecution and confinement for tax evasion, perjury and/or fraud.

If you receive a notification of an IRS audit and you prefer not to meet and deal with the IRS, you can rely on our professional services to represent you before the IRS and go through the audit for you.
